Summary The Newberg (Oregon) Monthly Meeting, organized in 1878, was first called the Chehalem Monthly Meeting. Membership had reached 356 by 1886. Though not fully completed, the new church held the opening sessions of the first annual convention of Oregon Yearly Meeting in 1893.
