Historical note

The Marion Monthly Meeting (Marion, Oregon) was established August 16, 1890, though a Sunday school had been held earlier in the 1880s. Initial meetings were in a one-room schoolhouse. Building plans were begun in 1891. B.F. Hinshaw became the first pastor in 1892. Because of a house fire, church records from 1910-1930 were destroyed.
