Historical note
Tyler J. Coburn established a meeting for worship in North Albina in 1911. Under his care, the West Piedmont Monthly Meeting was established on Dec. 26th, 1912 with 33 charter members. B.S. Cook and Dr. Byron Morris also played a role in the meeting's beginnings. At the request of the Commercial Club, the "West" was dropped from the name on May 26, 1932. The original building was sold to Portland Bible Institute in 1931, and a new church building was built in 1932-33.
