Historical note
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 17, 1959, for Bethany Friends Church, located near Seattle in Washington. The new pastor, Zenas Perisho, was also welcomed at that time (former pastor was Ethel Cowgill). The new church was built without assistance from the yearly meeting. Merging with a Baptist church, the group at Bethany left the Friends church in 1964.
