Historical note
Idaho Friends in the Boise Valley started meeting in 1898. In 1899, a church building was constructed, and on March 18 of that year the Boise Monthly Meeting of Friends was established. (However, the church lists its birthday as Aug. 30, 1905, with 35 members on the roll. John F. Hanson preached the sermon that day). Some individuals involved in the early history of the church were Rev. E. B. Sutton, Amanda Way, and Hiram D. Emerson. 1929 and 1970 marked other new church buildings. The Boise Friends Church celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1980.
