Historical note
Cascade Friends Church, Bend, Oregon, began in 1981, and closed in 1986. Jim and Michelle Lassley hosted the first morning worship service in their home on Oct. 5, 1980. The group soon had to meet in a mortuary chapel, and in 1981, Jim Leonard became pastor of Cascade Friends Church. In December of 1982, a meetinghouse was purchased, and by the next July, the congregation began meeting there. Due to declining attendance, the church had to close its doors.
