Historical note

The first preliminary meeting was held on Sep. 15, 1947 in George and Glenda Newall's home in Hillsboro, Oregon. On Dec. 14 of that same year, the meeting was moved to the Veteran of Foreign Wars Hall (it later moved to another location as well), but it was not until Jan. 4, 1948 that the first Sunday School and worship service was held. Gerald and Alice Dillon served as the church's first pastors. After property was purchased, construction of a church was begun in 1952.
