Historical note

Formerly Chehalem Center Friends, North Valley Friends (Newberg, Oregon) monthly meeting gathered for the first time on July 1, 1970, after a fire had destroyed the old Chehalem Center Friends Church building. This new church combined the Chehalem Center and Springbrook congregations. A dedication service was held on Dec. 17, 1972 for the new church building. In 1986, Keith Lamm, a graduate of George Fox College, replaced Stan Perisho as pastor.

Summary

North Valley Friends Church building, dedicated in 1972, combined two church congregation at the north Newberg, Oregon, site. A fire had destroyed the old Chehalem Center Friends Church building and the Springbrook congregations came alongside to form one newly named Friends Church. In 1986, Keith Lamm, a graduate of George Fox College, replaced Stan Perisho as pastor.
