Historical note
The First Friends Church of Portland, Oregon, was organized on June 5, 1893, with 33 charter members. The first meetings were held in a district school house until 1900, when it was moved to a better location. This served until 1905. A new building was erected and used until 1918. Mrs. Lida Romick served as the church's first pastor from 1893-1895. Portland First Friends was at one time called Sunnyside Friends Church and became known as Reedwood Friends Church in 1970 when the meeting moved into a new building. Records under all three church names are included.
