Historical note
Emma Mills, considered the founder of Rosemere Friends Church (located near Vancouver, Washington), became so concerned for the area that a lot was purchased and a tent meeting immediately held. Edmond T. Campbell was secured as the evangelist. After the tent meeting closed, Preston Mills built a house, enabling Sunday school and services to be held. Preston Mills began building a church in the spring of 1927. Harold and Marion Mills became the first pastors at Rosemere. The monthly meeting was organized by the Portland Quarterly Meeting on Mar. 31, 1940 with 16 charter members.
