Scope and Contents

This collection represents over fifty years of Harold Antrim's efforts to collect biographical studies of people involved in the historic and worldwide Quaker fellowships. A folder of Quaker women's biographies spans over three hundred years from Quakerism's beginnings in England in the late 1600s through the early years of the 21st century in the United States. Quaker pamphlets, magazine, and newspaper clippings provide descriptive materials about Quakerism, detailing the Society of Friends' faith and practice. There are also examples of Quaker art, music, humor, poetry, historic meeting houses in the United States and in Britain, including an extensive collection of brochures on Philadelphia and its Quaker heritage and an area of Shropshire, England that was also greatly influenced by the Quakers over a century ago. Some educational materials for youth from various Yearly Meetings, and a photo review of Sam and Dorothy Farmer's "Quaker Oats" ephemera collection are also included.

Biographical / Historical

Harold Antrim is a recorded minister of the Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends Churches. He has served as pastor of several Quaker churches in the Pacific Northwest since the middle 1960s and is currently the associate pastor at Sherwood (Oregon) Friends Church.
